Olkem-40 CT Tablet is a combination of Chlorthalidone and Olmesartan. It is used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). This medicine works by relaxing the blood vessels and also increasing the water and sodium excretion from the body. Thus it promotes the smooth flow of blood and also allows your heart to pump blood more efficiently. Olkem-40 CT Tablet has some side effects like cough, nausea, headache, diarrhoea, dizziness, and upset stomach. This medicine may cause you to urinate more often as it works by removing extra water from your body. Drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine to prevent getting dehydrated. If any of these side effects do not resolve with time or get worse, consult your doctor immediately. Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to it. Olkem-40 CT Tablet may be taken in the morning to avoid frequent urination at night. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly as it can cause your blood pressure to rise, thereby increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke (a condition that occurs due to reduced oxygen supply to the brain).
