Susten 8 % Gel has a similar action to the female hormone (chemical messenger) progesterone. It is used to treat various problems related to hormonal imbalance in the body, such as secondary amenorrhea (absence of three or more periods in a row) and infertility in women. Susten 8 % Gel has some side effects like stomach pain and discomfort, drowsiness, breast pain and tenderness, vaginal irritation, etc. These side effects are mild and may subside by themselves. However, consult your doctor if they bother you for a longer time or worsen. Susten 8 % Gel should be used as instructed by your doctor. Avoid using more than the recommended dose. Use it every day at the same time for the ease of remembering. Your doctor may recommend that you continue using this medicine for a certain time after you get pregnant, as it will help to support your new pregnancy. Susten 8 % Gel is not recommended for use if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have vaginal bleeding, kidney, liver, or heart problems, or any other medical conditions. Also, inform about all your current medications to avoid undesired effects. Susten 8 % Gel is not indicated for use in children. This medicine may be used during pregnancy upon your doctor’s recommendation.
