It is used to manage type II diabetes in patients whose blood sugar level is not controlled by diet alone. Type II diabetes, also known as non-insulin-dependent diabetes, is a disease condition that occurs when the body does not utilize insulin (a hormone that signals throughout the body to absorb glucose and regulate the blood sugar level), resulting in high blood sugar levels that are characterized by increased thirst, frequent urination, hunger, fatigue, and blurred vision. Your doctor may advise you to take a blood and urine sugar level test before or along with the management.
